Looking back in the rear view mirror
Mile 0. Our first tank of gas
Our journey began back in high school, where we both found ourselves part of the school's marching band competing in Edmonton Canada. Becca who happened to be friends with my roommate, dropped by one day and our friendship quickly turned into something more. We started dating during those high school years, eventually got engaged, and were married . Over the years, our love story expanded as we welcomed four wonderful children into our lives. Now, with three adorable grandkids, our family feels even more complete than ever before.
The venture into motorcycling started with borrowing an old vintage Yamaha Virago 750cc from Becca's older brother, with the intention for going on a leisurely ride. However, my spirited handling and daredevil speed quickly dampened Becca's enthusiasm for motorcycle adventures, leading her to swear off motorcycles entirely.
Yet, fate intervened years later when I finally purchased my first motorcycle—a sleek little 2006 Suzuki Boulevard M50. With cautious optimism, Becca tentatively embraced the idea of riding together again. What began as short excursions soon evolved into epic journeys, spanning multiple days of exploration and excitement.
Determined to explore all the National Parks in the United States, we embarked on our ambitious quest. Initially relying on luck to find hotel rooms for overnight stays due to our limited packing space, we soon encountered a harsh reality during a chilly October night in Utah's high deserts. Stranded without shelter, we learned the hard way that changes were necessary to continue our journey successfully.
And this brings us up to the point where we accidently acquired our first trailer which was an old Harbor Freight trailer with a wooden box that was mounted to the frame.
